September 2018: Meggitt has just launched a more comprehensive range of general-purpose vibration sensors for the Vibro-Meter® Energy product line. The new range of cost-effective sensors consists of CE6xx piezoelectric accelerometers with integrated electronics, PV6xx piezoelectric velocity sensors, PV686 combined piezoelectric velocity sensors and accelerometers, and associated EC6xx cable assemblies.
The CE6xx and PV6xx vibration sensors are available with a range of output sensitivities (mV/g, mV/mm/s, 4 to 20 mA proportional to g RMS, 4 to 20 mA proportional to mm/s RMS) and in standard or Ex versions (for use in hazardous areas). The CE620 and PV660 are IEPE sensors with a voltage output, the CE687 and PV685 are 4 to 20 mA loop-powered ‘vibration transmitters’ with a current output, while the PV686 combines an IEPE and a 4 to 20 mA loop-powered sensor in a single device that provides both current and voltage outputs.
As a result, we now supply more than 35 different versions of general-purpose vibration sensors that offer higher performance at lower cost, which are ideally suited to the monitoring of auxiliary balance of plant (BOP) equipment such as compressors, gearboxes, motors, pumps and fans, as well as large machinery such as hydro turbines.
